Selling stuff on social sites is EXACTLY like selling stuff at a friend’s party. YOU DON’T, but sales WILL come later.

I just watched the best video over on Perry Belcher’s site…
SocialMediaMoneySystem.com
…that explains how a business person should behave in social media settings.

It’s just like you would behave at a real-life party…

  • You go to a party (Twitter or Facebook)
  • You talk about light, fun topics (you don’t sell your Tupperware)
  • You make a few new friends and invite them back to your house (your blog) for a BBQ
  • They walk into your house on BBQ day, and again you keep the conversation light (no hard-selling)
  • Once you get out to the porch after dinner, they ask “So, what do you do (for a living)?”
  • This is your chance to casually tell them what you do. If they need your services, they’ll tell you so. If they have friends that need your services later, they will refer them to you.

I know this seems so obvious, but it is not what how most business people behave. We’ve been trained all our lives how to socially interact at BBQs. Who knew the same rules apply online.

Be sure to check out the free videos for yourself. This was just a brief summary.

There are also a couple free mindmap downloads you’re gonna want to grab.

Enjoy!

How do you brainstorm for good domain names today?

I recently found Bust-A-Name…
http://www.bustaname.com

Bust-A-Name lets you enter up to 20 keywords, group them, then see what combinations are available. I used to use DomainTools, but they are no longer a free service. You can purchase the domains you find at Bust-A-Name from your favorite registrar/host (i.e. GoDaddy) with a single click, but it’s optional.

I’m always looking new domain tools. If you know of another good one, please share it below. Thanks!

How to create your own contextual affiliate ads (like Google Adsense), without sharing your payday with Google!

We all know that Google keeps most of their Adsense revenue, sharing only a small portion of it with the publishers who post the ads on their sites. That’s all about to change…
echocurrent-product-overview How to create your own contextual affiliate ads (like Google Adsense), without sharing your payday with Google!
